Water Treatment Plant SCADA System
SCADAware converted three existing legacy Square D Series 400 PLC Processors to new Quantum PLC Processors, at a treatment plant providing fresh water to twelve communities at greater than 30 MGD during peak seasons. The original PLC code had to be converted by hand into the new Concept programming language. Two of the new Quantum PLCs used the existing Square D I/O racks and modules. A new Residual Processing Facility was also added to the operations at the treatment plant. SCADAware was responsible for providing all instrumentation, controls, and network integration to other vendor supplied equipment controls for this facility. SCADAware was also responsible for the expansion of the Plant Modbus Plus network to include this facility, as well as, the new Generator Room. This resulted in the addition of two new Modbus Plus segments.
Boiler Makeup Water Treatment
SCADAware designed and built two SCADA systems for the monitoring and control of boiler make-up water at a large steel manufacturing facility. Standards were established and specifications developed for these systems which ensured a common look and feel for both projects and allowed both systems to be included on a single PC for viewing from anywhere on the LAN or WAN. This system uses a PC communicating to Allen Bradley PLCs.
